Can anyone tell me if the same rules apply to sheds for storage as apply to external toilets? My inclination is to ask people to keep withn the 30sqm for everything (appart from decking) as that's simple and easy for everyone to remember but from a fire safety point of view I guess it depends what's stored in it and I wondered if the 6m rule would still apply to a non toilet shed.

According to how I interpret it, D&G council class everything structural as structures for the purposes of planning permission and it's what's being stored in it that determine category and cost of applying for PP. I was told even a 6' shed needed full planning on agricultural land if it wasn't for agriculture or forestry work, otherwise prior notification would be sufficient. I've just forked out £1203 for my hut app to include making my existing sheds permanent and extending the one where we have the toilet. Not sure this helps. For me, an extra shed for a toilet was counted as an extra structure.
