I've just been up to check on my hut which is very near my house so easy to do. Because it hasn't got a stove it doesn't get much winter time use except when I go sit in it on the odd sunny day.
It does tend to get a bit damp in winter but I manage to keep bedding dry by leaving it all heaped up at the front of the hut whch faces south, where it catches any light and heat that might be caught in this rather dreich weather.
I also have windows that can safely be left very slightly open which keeps a little air circulating.
The little room at the back of the hut gets very little sun and is most prone to dampness and so I moved the bunk beds I had in there into the main body of the hut which is better use of the space and put a folding bed in the small room which has a lightweight mattress that's easy to lift in and out and so I dont leave any bedding in there at all (The folding metal frame is also very easy to lift outside in summer if anyone fancies sleeping outside)
I have a small gas heater but it takes a while to have an impact at this time of year especially as the hut's not fully insulated and I find it best to wait for a bit of a sunny day when the warmth in the hut can build up quite quickly and then I go up and fling the doors open
